The ninth game of the 2019 campus edition of Tata Crucible saw over 800 people part of the Jaipur edition. The questions by Ms. Rashmi Furtado were sure a notch higher than the other cities, but she chipped in with a lot of clues that was well appreciated by the teams. The super over witnessed a close battle leading to the top six teams in the finale.
Super Over
THE TOP SIX (FINALISTS)
The finale of the quiz saw LNMIIT with Deepjyoti and Aditya blaze their way into the lead with three quick sixes. The team that tried to challenge them briefly was from BITS Pilani, but Deepjyoti and Aditya kept the momentum to stay ahead. As the quiz progressed their confidence increased and they finally end with the first score above 50 in this C-20 format, creating a national record. It would be worthy to note that in all they belted eight sixes.
While they won a memorable victory, Nischay and Aditya of BITS were mature to settle for the runner up title. The other notable thing about the quiz this year was the number of cities that were part of the quiz this year. Teams from Pilani, Ajmer and other cities beyond Jaipur were part of the event.
The winning team moves into the zonal as a clear favourite with quizmaster Pickbrain commenting that “If they play the same way they can be national champions”. Chatting with us after the quiz, Ms. Rashmi, the co-anchor appreciated the winners saying “They are very well prepared and look really sharp. What I also like is the way both gel as a team and trust each another to buzz without checking with the other”.
